Trade Nivesh | Market Live: Indices at day's low with Sensex falls 400 pts; Metal Stocks Under Pressure.



All the sectoral indices are trading red led by metal, infra, bank, auto, pharma and FMCG.

Mahindra CIE Automotive Q1: Consolidated net profit was up 16.7% at Rs 153.7 crore against Rs 131.7 crore, revenue up 8.9% at Rs 2,174.4 crore versus Rs 1,996.5 crore, YoY.

Market Update: Benchmark indices are trading at day's low level on Monday afternoon with Nifty below 11,600.

The Sensex is down 400.57 points at 38562.69, while Nifty is down 129.40 points at 11582.90. About 742 shares have advanced, 1585 shares declined, and 151 shares are unchanged.

Bharat Bijlee Q4: The company's adjusted net profit was at Rs 9.6 crore against Rs 2.1 crore, revenue was up 22.5% at Rs 273 crore against Rs 223 crore, YoY.

Firstsource Solutions Q4: Net profit up at Rs 98.2 crore against Rs 98 crore, revenue down 1.8% at Rs 967 crore versus RS 985.2 crore, QoQ.

Sagar Cements April 2019 consolidated cement production up 3.8% at 2,71,592 MT against 2,61,685 MT in April 2018.

Strides Pharma: The Company has received a communication from the USFDA classifying the facility as Official Action Initiated (OAI) based on the inspection conducted from January 25 to February 5, 2019. 

Nifty Bank is trading 231 points down, at 29,722. ICICI Bank, ahead of its Q4 result, is trading marginally higher. Federal Bank is the biggest gainer, up 3.3 percent. 

Aditya Birla Capital Limited will raise Rs 3,500 Crore by way of issuance of equity shares and equity linked instruments. The stock is up about one percent. 

Metal stocks are under heavy selling pressure today as all constituents of Nifty Metal index are trading in the red. The index itself is down over 2 percent, dragged by SAIL, Hindalco and Jindal Steel. 

Nifty IT is the only sectoral index trading in the green. It is marginally up, with Infibeam in the lead with 1.8 percent rise.

India VIX, the measure of volatility, has surged 7% intraday to 25.7. 

Volkswagen has challenged Rs 500-cr penalty imposed by NGT in the Supreme Court of India.  

Dr Reddy's Laboratories has launched Testosterone Gel, 1.62 percent (20.25 mg/1.25 g pump actuation) in the US market.

Brickwork Ratings India Pvt. Ltd. has assigned to PG Electroplast Ltd., a long term rating "BWR BBB". The instrument-wise assigned ratings are given below:

Rupee Update: The Indian rupee is trading lower by 16 paise at 69.38 per dollar versus Friday's close 69.22.

Oil prices tumble after Trump announces new tariffs: Oil prices tumbled by more than 2 percent on Monday after US President Donald Trump on Sunday said he would sharply hike tariffs on Chinese goods this week, risking derailing months of trade talks between the world's two biggest economies.

Gold Update: Gold prices climbed on Monday after US President Donald Trump threatened to raise tariffs on Chinese goods, escalating Sino-US trade tensions, which prompted risk-off sentiment and boosted safe-haven assets.
