Trade Nivesh On Thursday, the domestic stock markets ended the session with a fall. The results of the Maharashtra and Haryana assembly elections did not meet the BJP's expectations. This disappointed the market. Apart from this, selling in banking and metal stocks also increased the pressure on the market.
The BSE Sensex lost 38 points or 0.10 per cent to close at 39,020. At the same time, the Nifty 50 index fell 22 points or 0.19 percent to 11,583 points. Midcap index and smallcap index also closed in red.
Bharti Infratel shares dive up to 8 per cent on the Nifty 50 index. After this, shares of Grasim, Yes Bank, State Bank of India, GAIL (India), IndusInd Bank, Bharat Petroleum, Infosys, Hindalco and Indian Oil recorded the biggest fall.
On the other hand, shares of Bharti Airtel jumped up to 3.5 per cent. After this, shares of Reliance Industries, Eicher Motors, HCL Technologies, Titan Company, Asian Paints, Tata Motors, Ultratech Cement, Tatat Steel and JSW Steel were the biggest gainers.
Only the Nifty Realty index rose on Thursday. Godrej Properties shares outperformed the index. The index of public sector banks declined by more than 3.5 percent. Private bank, metal and media indices also slipped below half a percent.
Shares of Indian Bank dived up to 13.5 per cent in public sector banks. Dish TV shares fell as much as 15.5 per cent on the media index. In private banks, only Kotak Mahindra Bank shares rose. Jindal Stainless shares rose on the metal index.
Shares of 34 companies hit their 52-week high on the NSE during Thursday's session. These included Adani Transmission, Dolat Investments, Hindustan Foods, ICICI Bank, Inox Leisure, Jump Networks, Polycab India, Titan Company and Voltas.
In contrast, shares of 101 companies including Binani Industries, Blue Coast Hotels, Digium, Dish TV, Hatsun Agro, Kohinoor Foods, Lakshmi Vilas Bank, Mohata Industries, Raj Rayon, Shriram Multitech, Thomas Cook and Exclusive Infotechnics reached their 52-week low Slipped to level.
20 stocks on the Nifty 50 index closed green, while 30 stocks closed with a red mark. A dozen stocks rose on the Sensex, but 18 stocks declined. On the BSE, 1,078 stocks ended strongly and 1,378 stocks ended the business with weakness.
