Trade Nivesh | BJP leads the market in assembly elections

Trade Nivesh  On Thursday, domestic stock markets started the session at a rapid pace. The counting of votes is going on in Maharashtra and Haryana and the BJP seems to be getting a good lead in both the states. Due to this, there was excitement in the market.


Asian markets recorded a boom in global markets. Apart from Japan, the Asian markets saw up to 0.4 per cent strength. Japana's Nikkei reached the one-year peak with a gain of 0.66 percent. Australian and South Korean markets remained in the green mark.

At 9.30 am, the BSE Sensex was trading at 39,250 levels, up by 191 points or 0.49 per cent. At the same time, the Nifty 50 index was also recorded at 11,646 with an increase of 42 points or 0.36 percent.


On Wednesday, the American stock markets ended the day with a green mark. The Dow Jones gained 0.17 percent, while the S&P 500 index gained 0.28 percent. The Nasdaq Composite closed up 0.19 percent.

The BSE Midcap and Smallcap indices also recorded early trade. The trend of Nifty sectors was mixed. The telecom index dipped by over two per cent, while the Capital Goods and Consumer Durables indices rose by one per cent each.

Shares of HCL Technologies rose 2.95 per cent to Rs 1,128 on the BSE Sensex. Tech Mahindra shares rose 1.93 per cent to Rs 741.05. Shares of Larsen & Toubro, HDFC and Vedanta rose by 1.65 per cent, 1.10 per cent and 1.06 per cent respectively.

On the other hand, shares of Bharti Airtel lost 2.16 per cent to Rs 352.70. ONGC shares fell 1.87 per cent to Rs 139.30. Shares of Hero Motocorp, Tata Motors and Mahindra & Mahindra lost 1.41 per cent, 0.94 per cent and 0.88 per cent, respectively.

Shares of Larsen & Toubro, up 6.83 per cent in net profit, rose 2 per cent in the September quarter. Shares of HCL Technologies also jumped up to 4 per cent. The company's net profit grew by 4.4 percent in the September quarter.

On Wednesday, foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) continued to sell on the domestic stock market. During the last session, he sold shares worth Rs 213.23 crore. On the same lines, domestic institutional investors (DII) netted shares worth Rs 137.38 crore.
